Living Green, One tip at a Time -
Tip # 18
B.Y.O.B.

Bring Your Own Bag, especially when you shop at the grocery store.....where we tend to use many, many bags!!  If you haven't brought your own bag and you're offered the choice between plastic and paper, choose paper.  If you do bring home a plastic bag, recycle or re-use it!

Our favorites are the ones that fold up into little pouches. Our grocery stores sell the recycled bags, but still deal in the plastic ones. All the stores weren't doing the same so they were forced to go back with the plastic or loose customers.
We keep our recycled grocery bags in the back seat(in plain sight) so we remember to bring them in when we shop for groceries.

Kathy, you're so right...keeping the bags in plain sight is key until you get into the habit of always bringing re-useable bags with you. Great tip! Thanks.

Thank you for stopping by The Old Folks Know Best (http://www.TheOldFolksKnowBest.com)! I am now one of your newest Google Friend Connects! In our city, they are beginning to do away with plastic and paper so we will eventually need these beautiful bags to shop on a regular basis. Thank you for sharing this information. Blessings to you, Selena

Thanks for the follow. Following you back! Great tip. I try to always bring my own bags to the grocery store. They can stuff more things in them, so it means less trips up and down the stairs!!!

I have an assortment of bags, but I don't always remember to use them. :o/ I love the big Aldi bags! I also have a CVS bag that folds into a little pouch. I attached my CVS bag tag to it, so I *do* remember to take it when I go to CVS. Actually, it is in my purse most of the time because it is light and doesn't take up much space.

Thanks for stopping by Totally Temberton and commenting on the "drowning" article. YES! You may re-post it to your blog! It is so important and I wish that everyone in the world would see it and remember what it says. I hear about drownings on the news all the time. It's so tragic!

Great simple tip! I never remember to bring our bags, but we reuse the plastic bags so much I think it makes up for it!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog - I'm a new follower!
Have a fantastic week!
