Our book club's choice for April

This is the book we are reading for April.  I LOVE animals so I'm very much looking forward to reading this book.
Apparently, the story is told as a series of memories by a 90+ year old man, Jacob Jankowski, who was a veterinarian and now lives in a nursing home.

Has anyone read it?

Did you like it?

Will I need kleenex???

  4. Beautiful book! Great choice. How does your book club work? I belong to one where we meet once every 6 weeks or so in a bar, never tried one on-line.
BTW, great blog, I'm really enjoying it.

  8. The book club I'm in did this one the month I had my baby, but it was one of the few pics that they all loved. I'm going to pick it up as soon as I'm done my current book.

  11. I have read this book and thought it was great and different from the books I was reading at the time so that made it better. As far as a Kleenex goes, there were a few times it made me cry but I'm highly sensitive to the issue. I don't want to give anything away so I won't elaborate.

  13. Hi Monica,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I am now following yours, as well. I have read this bok--when it first came out. I really liked it a lot. Don't remember needing tissues, but it was awhile ago, so you may want to have some just in case.
Enjoy! See you during A to Z Challenge!!!

  15. It's a great book. I loved every word of it. I'm nervous about the movie, though. I'm not sure Reese Witherspoon was the right choice for Marlena. I'd have gone with someone like Zooey Deschanel.

    Hope you enjoy, though!
